How can you have a bad day when you wake up and make a warm breakfast like this? Or better yet when you wake up to this breakfast waiting for you in the kitchen? So, pass Chef Pan’s recipe along to that friend or loved one so that can become a reality.

No matter how you choose to top your waffles, this is one of those recipes you’ll turn to time and time again and it will likely become a favorite!


  • 2 cups AP flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 large eggs separated
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Macerated Berries
  • 1 pint strawberries diced
  • 1/3 cup sugar
Cover strawberries with sugar set aside for 1 hour.
Whipped Cream
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Mix all together in mixer till firm.

Mixing bowls
KitchenAid or similar


In a bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking powder. In another bowl, lightly beat egg yolks. Add milk, butter and vanilla; mix well. Stir into dry ingredients just until combined. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter. Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer’s directions until golden brown. Serve with fresh fruit or syrup. Yield: 10 waffles
