1. How does your personal chef service work?

We create a personal chef dining experience in the comfort of your own home or condo.  First you reserve your date, then complete the contract, curate your menu with Chef David, and then the rest is on us.

2. Who is your personal chef? What are his qualifications?

All of our culinary experiences are led by Chef David Pan, chef proprietor of Orange Beach Concierge Services and co-owner of DMP Hospitality Group. A true world-traveler and French-culinary enthusiast, Chef Pan specializes in blending classic French methods with the latest culinary trends and techniques. After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu Mendota Heights, Chef Pan has worked with noted chefs in elite establishments across the country, including the Minneapolis Club and Gustavus Inn. Since moving to the Alabama Gulf Coast in 2013, Chef Pan has won multiple industry awards and is now the only chef proprietor in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.

3. Why should I book directly through OBC instead of using a third-party chef service?

Good question! Third-party bookings often come with service fees in excess of $100 and cookie-cutter menus that may not charm your guests. By booking your personal chef experience directly through Orange Beach Concierge Services, you’ll enjoy the best up-front price and access to your personal chef to plan a personalized menu that meets your tastes and preferences. Third-party booking services also do not give you personal access to the chef and his team, but at Orange Beach Concierge each of our dinner services are personally curated for our guests.

4. How far in advance do I need to book a personal chef experience?

As soon as you know you are coming to the coast. 75% of our dates are already reserved at the beginning of each year. However, we do our best to accommodate last-minute reservations!

5. Can I hire a personal chef in Orange Beach for a special event or occasion?

Absolutely! From private events to personal dinners, we love any chance for a culinary celebration. Whether it’s a birthday, an intimate wedding, a family reunion or a corporate retreat, Chef Pan and his team will create the perfect menu and service for any occasion. And if you need some extra help, our team can handle everything from event design and decor to catering and clean-up.

6. What kind of meals can the personal chef prepare? Do you offer sample menus, or can the menu be fully customized?

Unlike other services, at Orange Beach Concierge no two menus are alike; each meal is customized with Chef David to curate the perfect menu for the evening.

7. Can I request organic or locally sourced ingredients?

Fresh produce is a staple of French cuisine, and Chef Pan always looks for seasonal ingredients from local purveyors to create your personalized menu. If you have special dietary preferences like organic produce, be sure to tell Chef Pan during your consultation so he can include them in your personalized menu.

8. Can the Orange Beach personal chef accommodate dietary restrictions or special diets (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, food allergies)?


9. Do you provide wine pairing suggestions with the meals?

Absolutely! It elevates the experience a bit more, and we truly enjoy introducing new wines to complement each course.

10. How long will the chef be at my house on the day of service?

Approximately two hours.

11. Do I need to provide the cooking equipment, or will the chef bring it?

Chef David brings all of his gear and all he needs is the stove and/or fire to provide an amazing Orange Beach personal chef experience.

12. How much does the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach personal chef service cost? Is there a cost per person or a flat fee?

We have a dynamic pricing schedule and it is based on the day of the week and determined by courses; it’s a flat fee.

13. How many people can the personal chef cater for?

Two to 200.

14. What areas do you serve?

We focus on the Gulf Coast, but have been known to travel from New Orleans, Louisiana to Navarre, Florida locally and have filled request beyond that.
